Fragile Fertug
Poor Aydan Fertug for the last three weeks he has been out with a sprained wrist after James Milner needlessly smashed a shot towards him in training. Will his sprained wrist EVER get better?Lots of questions have been circulating about his return, but no firm answers have yet been set. We investigate into the pain Aydan is currently going through.

What is a sprained wrist? A wrist sprain occurs when the ligaments of the wrist are stretched beyond their normal limits. In Aydan's case his wrist was bent beyond normal limits by the force of Milner's shot. This caused Aydan's wrist to swell up, discoloration of his skin and discomfort.

So how long will it take to heal? A good question, the period of the first 48 hours after the injury has occurred are considered the most critical and Aydan has helped his healing process by resting it. Sprains can take quite a while to completely heal and three weeks is not very long. His doctor recommended that he should rest it for 6 weeks but he is being overly cautious as he knows that he is liable to legal action if he gives advice that may damage Aydan's footballing career.

More worryingly… Aydan could have a navicular bone fracture that doesn't show up on the initial x-ray, but is detected a couple of weeks later. If this is the case, Aydan could be out for at least another month…good luck Aydan.

Let's hope Aydan hasn't fractured his navicular bone...

So what do we do in the mean time? Just sit and wait. Aydan is a great keeper but Paul Mally is more than a reliable temporary replacement. Meanwood are fortunate to have two excellent keepers available at the club, most clubs would pay good money to have either. In the meantime, let's all get behind Paul and his special talent of rolling the ball out better than every other keeper.
