Magnificent Meanwood Mutilate Hampster
Ayden Fertug- Welcome BackThe battle for fifth place was on, it would go down to either Grampa's 8 my Hampster or the mighty Meanwood…Meanwood of course joined the league late, thus had given Grampa's 8 my Hampster a good head start. Meanwood had another keeper crisis as both Ayden Fertug and Paul Mallian looked set to miss the match…however, Ayden shocked everyone when he decided to go in net…well actually he was forced to go in, the less said about that the better. Dean Bell also looked set to miss the match but he turned up with minutes to spare to give Meanwood a full strength team. The teams lined up with Ayden Fertug in net and Anthony Mckieth, Richard Bissitt, Daniel Woodward and Dean Bell all playing out…Gafa wanted the first five minutes on the bench…lazy git.

Anyway…this is going to be another of those vague match reports because so much happened that it's impossible to digest. Woody opened up the scoring with a thunderous low shot that left the keeper helpless…Woody is now scoring goals as well as tackling…well done Woody! Then Dean coolly added a second and Meanwood looked in the driving seat again…then Anthony Mckieth added insult to injury and Meanwood were suddenly 4 or 5 nil up within the first five minutes…another strong start from Meanwood. Talking of strong starts, it didn't take Gafa long to score when he came onto the pitch. It only took Gafa three touches to score straight away, first he dummied it, then he took a touch to take it away from a defender and then he calmly placed the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the net to ease his nerves. Before Meanwood knew it they were absolutely hammering their opponents…the only Meanwood player who hadn't scored was Bissitt and he put that right just before half time to make the score an impressive 8-2.

The second half was much the same as Meanwood continued to play defensive and kept counter attacking their opponents. However, Meanwood did start to play a bit more offensive and this caused them to concede a few sloppy goals…but by this point all Meanwood were concerned with was having fun…Gafa was enjoying himself and made sure that he finished top scorer for this season by scoring a grand total of 5, his cousin Dean Bell also scored an impressive 5, Mckieth scored 4, Woody surprisingly scored his second brace in two games and Bissitt was unfortunate to have only scored 1. However, Bissitt was a true professional as he created chances rather than being selfish like Gafa. Gafa- Officially Man Of The MatchBy the end of the match Meanwood had broke their highest victory record in the Mens League and had won 17-5, yes SEVENTEEN-five. It's also Grampa's 8 my Hampster's heaviest defeat of their long history. All in all a classic performance from a team that must surely be looking for a top three finish next season.

Man Of The Match- Gafa
Officially it was Gafa; unofficially it could have been everyone because the whole team was superb including Ayden who made fantastic saves in net. It was a nice night for Gafa as he finished Meanwood's top scorer with 17 goals and also became the only Meanwood player to get more than one man of the match awards this season…Gafa was a tiny bit disappointed with his performance last match but he's soon put things right again.

Conclusion
What can you say about a performance that blew everybody away? The referee gave credit Meanwood and stated that they played "extremely well". Joint Meanwood captain, Gafa, considers this as Meanwood's best performance for a long time… Grampa's 8 my Hampster were impressed with how disciplined and good Meanwood were. Meanwood today proved that they are one of the best counter attacking teams…they actually played very defensive and used their ability to counter attack to score a tonne of goals…all players and spectators watching Meanwood were giving a master class in 5-a-side football…something special indeed. Every team must now surely fear Meanwood after their last two results…impressive to say the least.

Gafa
A very proud joint captain here. A truly magnificent performance, in the last two games we have shown that we have incredible bounce-back-ability to have won so convincingly after a poor patch.

Everyone deserves a pat on the back after a fantastic performance last night and a pretty good season performance...not bad to say we started bottom half way through the season with terrible goal difference.
Woody
Good performance from everybody tonight. After no points all season 4 wins in the last 6 games is very good to take into next season. I think we can seriously challenge for promotion next season. Great finish to the season and good to see we have finally found our best team and best style of play.
Ayden Fertug
True team performance tonight, everyone did their bit and was on top of their game. Glad to be back from injury even though not fully recovered. We can certainly challenge for promotion next season, if we continue performing at this level we're in for an easy ride. Didn't have to deal with half as many shots as I did earlier in the season - only reason we conceded 5 is because we got slack towards the end but our attacking edge made up for that.
