Meanwood Lay Into Mi Nan
Meanwood were missing key players such as Dean Bell and Ayden Fertug. Back up goalkeeper Paul Mallian had broke in his foot after tripping on a cracked curve…no doubt he'll be suing the council. Anthony Mckieth could only do one half out and one half in net because he wanted to save himself. This gave, number 1 back up player, Jonesy a chance to show us what he could do between the sticks as well as outfield…the Ginger Ginola had made his return to goals, promising us that he was an even better player than he was last time…the Meanwood starting line-up was Jonesy in net with Mckieth, Bissitt, Woody and Gafa all playing outfield.

Gafa- 5 GoalsThe first five minutes for Meanwood were frustrating as they struggled to find a way past a decent Inter Mi Nan goalkeeper…However, Meanwood opened up the scoring when Gafa calmly placed the ball past a despairing goalkeeper after mugging an Inter Mi Nan player…no doubt they'll be seeing each other in court. Gafa was heavily criticised by his teammates last week after he failed to score for the second time in ten matches. This goal seemed to provide the perfect confidence booster for a man low on morale. Meanwood suddenly found themselves two up when Woody managed to get a powerful shot on target, which was far too strong for an angry goalkeeper. Meanwood were in full control of the match but unfortunately conceded two goals in quick succession. However, Meanwood were never in danger of falling behind and Mckieth dashed forward to score to make the score 3-2. Inter Mi Nan then tried to foul their way out of trouble and took their frustrations out on a few Meanwood players but Woody was on hand to snap them. Gafa then scored his second after a lovely passing move between him and Mckieth, Gafa was very grateful for Mckieth's assist. Meanwood finished the half 4-2 up and were in cruise control.

The Ginner was now unleashed…Jonesy came out of net. Jonesy scored straight away after taking on a player and sending a thunderbolt towards goal…the Ginger Ginola had scored! He then took advantage of another tired defender and took him on, which sent him one on one with the keeper and allowed him to score his second goal. Gafa then broke free down the right hand side and placed the ball into the far left hand corner of the net…Meanwood now seemed to be running their opponents ragged. However, Inter Mi Nan replied after Woody was unfortunate not to stop an Inter Mi Nan player from breaking free. In the process…Woody had ripped his shorts…and boxers shorts. How ironic that Woody Boxer Shorts (and thongs) were launched this week in the Meanwood shop…I bet he wished he had some. However, being the exhibitionist that he is, Woody carried on with his valuables on display…luckily this didn't effect Woody's other valuable attributes of tackling and defending. Jonesy- 5 GoalsHowever, this wasn't enough as Inter Mi Nan pulled one back when Meanwood conceded a deflected goal and then another…and you guessed it another. The incident seemed to be distracting the Meanwood players. However, Meanwood were in no danger and Bissitt then took on another defender and scored again to make the score 8-5. Last season's second top scorer is still finding the back of net. Jonesy then scored a hattrick to become this season's joint top scorer after he sent another fierce shot goal bound…the Ginger Bread Man had arrived back in style and baked us some treats. Jonesy gave Meanwood another treat when he added a fourth. Gafa then did a trick, which resulted in a player being humiliated; much to the amusement of the whole Meanwood team…Gafa must have being watching those Okocha videos…or Mckieth. Either way, Gafa continued his run downfield and sent a shot that was deflected in to score his fourth…. fluky…well yes…but they all count. Gafa then scored a fifth with a first time shot after In Mi Nan had failed to clear their lines. However, Jonesy had the final word when he sent another rocket into the back of the net past a distraught keeper…As we all know, Meanwood have bounce back ability and they have demonstrated it again after recovering from a defeat to win in style the following week.

Man Of The Match- Jonesy
The night belonged to Gingerbeer, he proved to be the perfect tonic for Meanwood after they had suffered many injuries. In net he proved that he is a world-class goalkeeper and Ayden Fertug must be quivering in his boots. Outfield, he proved that he is as good as any Meanwood first team players and the best back up player available…no doubt he'll be getting a phone call every time somebody is injured. The former Pool's Wonders man is on top form…

Conclusion
An expected win but an important win none the less. Meanwood desperately needed to get three points after a disappointing opening loss to Roque Jnrs…and what a way to get it. Meanwood were superb and oozed quality and goals. Meanwood were in control from start to finish and showed the rest of Goals why they are a force to be reckoned with…a top display.

Gafa
An extremely good performance…we once again proved that we are a good team. I've always known that Alex Jones is a good player since he was my team-mate at Pool's Wonders. A very good back up player that we will be using. It's a shame for him that he didn't rejoin sooner or he would be a first team player…nevertheless it's good to know we've got someone to fall back on. Apart from Jonesy, everyone was good tonight. I'm relieved to score five goals, I thought I was going to have a dry spell but it hasn't happened yet…I could have scored more though.
Jonesy
Well played fellas, we beat those Inter Mi Nan muppets, cheers Gafa for letting us play. I rewarded you with 5 goals…
