Meanwood Get Back To Winning Ways Against Roque Jnrs
"Football is a physical game and guys are going to get hurt". That quotation must have been ringing in Meanwood's ears as they desperately tried to scrape a team together. Dean Bell, Aydan Fertug, Paul Mallian were all still injured, added to that list was James Milner and nearly every backup player known to man, which ultimately meant that Meanwood had another injury crisis. Fortunately, Meanwood managed to get Chris Waring to play to give Meanwood 5 players, which were: Woody, Gafa, Mckieth, Bissitt and of course Chris Waring. However, things are never simple and third choice keeper Woody changed his mind about going in net at the last minute, which lead to another keeper crisis. Nobody was willing to go in net so Meanwood surprised everybody and put Paul Waring in net. ("The best things in life make sense", was that really part of a Meanwood advertising campaign…ironic to say the least) Anyway, Roque Jnrs were extremely confident of victory after seeing several regulars missing from the Meanwood squad…However, there was another reason why they were so confident…one of their players was on refereeing duty at Goals and was given the task of refereeing his own team…the management at Goals must have a strange sense of humour.

Roque Jnrs, so confident, so supposedly skilful…so shocked when Chris Waring sent a thunderbolt into the roof of the net…1-0 to Meanwood…a stunning start. Meanwood just kept adding to that scorline when Chris Waring scored again along with Bissitt, Woody, Gafa and Mckieth. Meanwood were 6-1 up at one stage and looked destined for a big victory. Unfortunately, Roque Jnrs had a few bad (or biased?) refereeing decisions go their way and fought back to make a fist of the game. However, Meanwood got their act together once again and kept replying to Roque's goals. Bizarre moments included a goal from Gafa, which was accidentally let in by the keeper who was too busy complaining at his team…they all count. However, Meanwood and Roque Jnrs were level at half time…how did that happen? Meanwood had dominated from start to finish and deserved to be annihilating their opponents.

OK, second half…much of the same, Roque scored, Meanwood scored…talk about goals…Chris Waring then had a blazing row with the referee and accused him of refereeing in favour of Roque Jnrs after he was recklessly snapped…twice. Enough was just too much. More goals were scored from both teams, the best of which included a stunning goal from Mckieth who chested and volleyed it into the back of the net. Woody also scored a cracker to score his first Meanwood brace of all time to bring his season goal tally to two. Chris Waring was also impressive with a wide array of trickery and strength. Paul Waring made saves that a proper keeper would have been pleased with…and in the final ten minutes Meanwood completely ran away with it and left their opponents shocked and in a way humiliated…the final score was Meanwood 12, Roque Jnrs 8. Every outfield player scored with Bissitt, Gafa and surprisingly Woody all scoring a brace and Mckieth and Waring scoring a hattrick each.

Man Of The Match- Woody
Woody was awesome in defence and proved why Meanwood need him to play out. Although, others such as Chris Waring were fantastic. Woody edges it as he finally managed to score for the first time this season with two fantastic goals. He is perhaps Meanwood's only proper defender and it shows.

Conclusion
So Meanwood are back to winning ways…at last. An easy victory in the end and the score line did flatter Roque somewhat, as their goalkeeper stated, "Meanwood were by far the best team and deserved to win by a lot more". It was by no means Meanwood's best performance but it was a performance that comfortably did the job. Meanwood also did a favour for Omar Superstars as Meanwood's victory means that they are likely to finish third ahead of Roque…Omar played their part in the bargain and beat Inter Mi Nan, which means that Meanwood are now up to fifth …Meanwood have now won three out of their last five, which gives an optimistic outline for Meanwood's second season…
