Meanwood Release Statement About Withdrawing
Due to Meanwood's worrying injury crisis, the club has been forced to issue a statement. The statement was released after consultation with players and officials of the Goals Monday Night League.

A Meanwood statement reads as follows,

It is with some regret that Meanwood announce their withdrawal from the Goals' Monday Night League for a duration of three weeks. As most of you are already aware, several the club's players have become injured in recent weeks. This has left our club with a lack of players and an insufficient squad to complete for the remainder of this season. The club's officials and players would like to apologise to it's supporters for this bad news and hope that the supporters can remain loyal and patient through this difficult time.

Despite having to withdraw, the club remains confident that it will find enough temporary replacements for the early stages of next season. Furthermore, the club also remains confident that it has enough replacements to take part in the upcoming tournament.

We are sorry for this inconvenience, Meanwood F.C.

Get well soon Woody. As the statement tells us, Meanwood will be withdrawing from the Monday Night League for a period of up to "3 weeks". This will be the first time that Meanwood have withdrawn from the league since they withdrew from 6-A-Side football and went back to 5-A-Side. The other time being when Meanwood withdrew from the Under 18s League to enter the Mens League.

Due to the long-term injuries of Richard Bissitt and Daniel Woodward it has already been rumoured that temporarily replacements such as Wesley Williams could be drafted in when the team restarts at the beginning of next season. Wesley Williams is famous for scoring 7 goals in his first Meanwood match and his arrival would be welcomed from the likes of Nathan Williams and Daniel Gafa-Gaunt.

Despite the statement, a few questions remain. One of them concerns what the Meanwood players will be doing during these three weeks. They seem to have been given a three-week break, although they will still be participating in an upcoming tournament. We are assuming that it is each players' individual responsibility to make sure that they are in peak condition for the start of the new season.

Another question is in regards to this site and what updates this site will receive during these three weeks. We at Meanwood.net are likely to be covering the upcoming tournament and will be keeping an eye on all major developments.

Finally, we wish all fans the very best during this three-week period. If this causes any unwanted suffering then we suggest that you contact any number of help organisations such as the Salvation Army who will guide you through this difficult time. However, don't worry Meanwood will be back.
