Mens League

  1. Vs. Roque JnrsThe ball comes zooming towards Gafa at a frantic speed off the boards. Gafa awkwardly adjusts his body position and sends a shot rocketing towards the top corner of the net from distance, past a keeper who dives desperately.
  2. Vs. OPL. Gafa gets the ball and manages to dribble round three players and sends a low shot past a wrong-footed keeper that manages to go in off the post.
  3. Vs. Southside Pimps. Gafa wasn't having the best of games, as apart from Woody he was the only person who hadn't scored. Gafa had a five minute break on the bench and as soon as he came back on, he raced up the pitch and received the ball in a tight position from Dean Bell, Gafa then managed to squeeze a tightly angled shot into the bottom far left corner and achieve his aim.

Tournament Goals

  1. Vs. City Boys. Meanwood were 1-0 down and there was a mere 30 seconds left when Gafa received the ball inside his own half and smashed the ball home into the far top right-hand corner to earn Meanwood a draw amid frantic celebrations.
  2. Vs. YP United Seniors (semi-final). The score was 1-1 and there were less than 20 seconds remaining when Gafa received the ball and went round three balls and placed the ball into the far left hand corner of the net to score one of the most crucial goals of his career and once again save Meanwood by the skin of their teeth.
  3. Vs. Holbeck (Final). After Meanwood had conceded, Gafa got the ball from the centre and "danced" round three of Holbeck's players and then sent a shot from distance that ended up in the top corner of the net.
Best Moment
Scoring against YP United Seniors in the last 20 seconds to earn Meanwood a place in the final of the Youth Point Tournament.
Biography

Gafa is a seasoned veteran at Goals and has played for several different teams. When Daniel "Gafa" Gaunt finally joined Meanwood, he set his standards high immediately finishing top scorer in his first tournament for Meanwood, scoring 7 in 3 eight-minute games. Gafa immediately established himself as a crucial Meanwood player and has never missed a game since then. He became joint captain with Richard Bissitt for his level-minded organizational skills and lead the team into the Mens League. He has a tremendous amount of pace, good ball control, an unusual amount of stamina and a very accurate shot, which combined makes him a deadly striker. Gafa also seems to strive in difficult situations due to his determination, when times are rough Gafa acts tough.
