Mens
League
- Vs. FC Headingley. Milner
received the ball on the right hand side and muscled his way past a
defender before taking a thunderous shot, which headed towards the
far left hand corner of the net. This was Milner's first Mens
League goal and what a stunner it was.
- Vs. The Big Kahuna's. Milner
surprised everyone by running at full speed down the right hand side
of the pitch to receive an excellent through ball from Bissitt.
Milner then calmly chipped the ball over the keeper who had
mistakenly dived too early.
- Vs. Inter Mi Nan. Milner found
some rare energy and quickly burst three yards through a defence to
receive the ball and score with a first time shot that left the
keeper helpless.
Tournament
Goals
- Vs. Armley Squash Club F.C. After
the ball has deflected off Gafa's head, everybody had assumed that
it was head height thus stopped playing. However, Milner was
sensible and played to the referee's whistle and scored when
nobody else was aware.
- Vs. YP Seniors B. Milner
received a pass just inside his own half and ran a few yards before
thumping the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the net from
distance to give Meanwood a 1-0 lead.

| Biography |
|
It's amazing how a player with such little
energy can get so far. One of the main reasons for James' success is down to
his physical strength. James is a big lad and can use his body to the best of
its ability. However, James isn't just about brute strength, well not entirely.
He has the "keep it simple" attitude of passing the ball around and shooting at
the correct times, he doesn't try anything too complex and consequently makes
fewer mistakes than anybody else. Milner is a commanding player who rarely gets
dominated by the older players that he now faces. Milner can spot danger a mile
off and when he isn't lazy, he can prevent it from developing. Milner also
posses a frightening shot. Although it isn't accurate, if he gets it on target
it can be very powerful and difficult to stop, which is why most of his goals
are smashed in the back of the net. Milner is one of the more casual members of
the Meanwood team and this can prove a calming influence. |
